- All Veterinary aspects related to commercial ostrich production,
- Avian respiratory conditions ; particularly Newcastle Disease Virus incl vaccine development ,Avian Influenza, airsacculitis syndrome,
- Bacterial infections of the gastrointestinal tract ,particularly Salmonella , E.coli and Clostridial enterotoxaemia , development of Probiotics,
- Other: Crimean-Congo Haemorrhagic Fever in ostriches , Rift Valley Fever.

International:
- Visited 40+ countries ; several of them many times, mostly African & Arabian , also Europe, USA, South America & SouthEast Asia since 1993, for lecture tours, conferences & consultations on Veterinary aspects related to the abovementioned topics.
- Technical adviser to SA delegations during Agricultural negotiations ( Meat exports: Poultry & Ostrich Diseases) with the EU (1996-1998).
