Has written more than 70 papers in scientific journals and over 100 articles and has been an invited speaker at conferences in Australia, England, Ireland, Argentina, Chile, Brazil, Equador, South Africa. A co-author of four chapters in specialist books.
Has researched: the effects of calving at different times of the year; the genetic differences between large and small cows; the differences between strains of black & white cows from USA and New Zealand.
Headed the Massey Dairy Farmers Conference for 15 years until 1997 when his commitment to industry extension was recognised by the New Zealand Society of Animal Production's Sir Arthur Ward Award.
