Dietmar Holm

Dietmar was born and raised in Hartbeespoort near Pretoria, and qualified as veterinarian from the University of Pretoria in 1998. He worked in mixed animal practice in South Africa and in the United Kingdom until 2003, when he returned to Onderstepoort. He became lecturer in Production Animal Studies and obtained his MSc degree in 2006 in Beef Herd Health. His main research interest is in the field of heifer selection for fertility.
He is married with two sons, and enjoys farming, making music and sailing in his spare time.
