I have visited dairy farms in Argentina, Australia, Ireland, Wales and Japan.
In my spare time I am a small-scale rearer of replacement dairy heifers.
Key accomplishments
Industry: -
- 18 years as a Farm Consultant with dairy farmers in the North and South Island of NZ. Employed by NZ Dairy Board, LIC and Dexcel.
- Established LIC’s FarmWise Consultancy business in Northland region.
- 1997-2005 a member of Dexcel Holstein Friesian strain trial project comparing NZ Holstein Friesian with US Holstein Friesian in pasture based systems.
- National Finals Judge, NZ Sharemilker of the Year, 2001-2003
- 7 years working in research and development projects at Dexcel and Dairy NZ
- Currently Project Manager of DairyNZ Prototype Farms project for Dairy farming’s future.
- Has contributed many presentations, articles and technical contributions to dairy industry conferences, publications and seminars.
