Returned to University in 1997 to complete a post graduate degree in Farm Business Management at Massey university in New Zealand. Spent 12 months as an Agricultural Economist before joining the Dairy Branch as a dairy adviser and Leader of Dairy Extension. Has spent 12 years running farmer groups specialising in both technical and business subjects and consulting to farmers and agribusiness. Formed the first business management discussion group in Tasmania. Basil has now joined a private consulting firm which specialises in farm business management. Has written and delivered courses in: Business management Creating wealth Pasture management Dairy cattle nutrition Strategic planning Benchmarking Managing challenging times Has been awarded a Queens Trust scholarship as well as the George Wade Medal for services to agriculture. Enjoys: Horse racing, cricket, rugby and fishing.
